This is my ELLIOTT puzzle. Marriage record in Oakland ---1878 for Jacob "W" Thrasher, 52, (I think this could be Jacob "U" Thrasher) and he married Rachel ELLIOTT, 43 (b.abt. 1833) Deer Park, Garrett County, Maryland -Deer Park Cemetery-- Jacob Thrasher is buried beside Rachel and while his stone says "Grandfather", she's is not shown as "Grandmother", leading me to believe she was a second wife and not the mother of Jacob's children. Also, in Jacob's son's, Franklin Thrasher, funeral records Franklin's mother is listed as Rebecca. Did they confuse Rachel with Rebecca? It doesn't seem that Jacob's first wife, Elizabeth "A" Smith Thrasher, would have been called Rebecca, do you think? While living in Garrett Co., MD this family was strongly associated with the Methodist Church. Pat-T ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> Alice, Thanks. Found it in the 2004 archives from Bill Elliott. Nope, different Elliott's than mine. Mine were Brethren as well, though. My point of contact is Henry Cress/Rachel Elliott.
