The Elizabeth Knotts you are talking about married a Lewis Garner. Unless she divorced and married again. Also I believe that Elizabeth Knotts died in 1895. Mine died in 1883. Have you looked on the site WV division of culture and history. It's Fabulous. They have death,birth and Marriage certificates (depending on the county) for all the counties in WV and in different counties the documents are pretty old. The following information from "The Knotts Family" by Betty A. Knotts, page 128 and 129. Goldie C. Knotts born April 1, 1893 in Preston County, the daughter of Phillip Sanford Knotts, born August 13, 1851 at Fellowsville, married Feb 17, 1878 to Martha J. Sheets, born May 22, 1857. Phillip Sanford Knotts was the son of Thomas and Mary (Wolfe) Knotts. Thomas Knotts, son of Robert and Barbara (Six) Knotts was born about 1805 in Monongalia (now Preston) County, VA. He has been described as "a great sportsman, interested in running dogs and blooded horses." Thomas married Mary Elizabeth Wolfe about 1841. Mary was born about 1810 in VA. Thomas was a farmer and they resided in the Reno District of Preston County. He died there of "lung fever" on April 11, 1879. Mary's death was not recorded. They are buried at Mt. Israel Cemetery near Fellowsville. I hope this helps. My Knotts ancestor is Absalom Knotts who was a brother to Thomas.

I did some searching and came up with an Elizabeth Knotts born to Robert and Barbara Sixx Knotts which would be the grandparents of Phillip Knotts. She was born around 1825 which coincides with the date of birth in the censuses. I hope maybe this has helped some. I dont know if this information is right or not, I found this on rootsweb but Robert and Barbara Knotts did have a daughter named Elizabeth living with them in some of the United States Censuses. I found a Landon Clayton Bell on books.google.com he wrote a number of books including ones that contain Vestry information one book is http://www.worldcat.org/wcpa/oclc/220155572, the other thing is to check out the surname Beall as the pronunciation is the same in some areas. Hi, Folks, There is an obituary in today's Uniontown, Fayette, PA paper for Donald Edgar Myers who died 7 February 2009 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born at Cheat Neck, Monongalia County, WV to James Myers and Nora Ryan. I've found that there's a page (67) on Nora Ryan's family in the book "Genealogy of Some Early Families in Grant and Pleasant Districts, Preston County, W. Va." I'm wondering if anyone on this list has followed this family of James T. Myers and Nora Pearl Ryan? James T. Myers appears to have been a son of Alpheus M. Myers and Hannah Nabors if the funeral home record for their daughter Mary Jane Myers who m. Lester Glenn Fowler is correct. Alpheus M. Myers may have been born in Preston or nearby in Maryland. So far, I've found connections to my maternal Ruble, Hugh, and Jones families. Willing to share what I've learned. Best regards, Jane

I have just cme into posession of a photo of one of their children, Elizabeth Cecilia (Geldbaugh) Kephart. In the photo with her is John Henry Avers - my great-grandfather. A letter accompanying the photo, written by a grandchild of John Henry Avers, describes her her as 'Cousin Lizzie Kephart'. I am unaware of any family connection between the Avers and Geldbaugh families - but am intrigued by the possibilities.
