    3. Carolyn - Thanks for the boost. PCHS is making a big investment in order to make the 1979 PC History available and we need to recover the costs. Janice SHUPE@citcom.net wrote: > Ta Da!!!!!! 2. Ta Da!!!!!! THANK YOU, Janice and all who worked on this project!!! My check is ready to go, too! My Christmas present to myself <BG>. For those who are "sitting on the fence" with the decision to purchase this book, may I offer my personal opinion? I have seen the book several times and it is the greatest! reading you will find. The clues are unlimited-----for these are stories told by members of each family on their recollection of their own family ancestry . My own discovery is one which I would never!!!!! have found elsewhere. A descendant told of John Kelley/Kelly 1755-1853 and named his father!!!! Robert Ray/Wray Kelley (b. Ire.) of NC!!!!!!!! I have since found a possibility that "Ray" was possibly a different spelling of the Wray surname; making another possibility that Robert's mother was a "Wray" Would never have searched NC records for this Kelley had it not been for the info in the book. It's also a great way to help the Preston Co. Historical Soc.!!!! We all WIN! Warmest regards, Carolyn

Also, Pioneers of Preston, the compilation of the 1907-1908 genealogy articles in the Preston County Journal that so many of you have been requesting from the Journal office, is being offered for sale. Content and order information is available at: www.hhs.net/sss/preston/pchs.htm Many of you asked for these. We look forward to your support. Janice Cale Sisler President

WV. The more famous of these would be David Spessert b. 1777 in MD, d. 1868 in Preston Co., and Alexander Sanders (son of Hiram Sanders and probably buried in Preston Co. as well) b. 1800 and d. 1863 - both in Preston Co. I will be in Kingwood tomorrow at the Preston Co. Courthouse and would love to be able to find these burial sites and those of their kin. Thanks for your help. 3. Hi Deborah, Please keep in mind I did not have a index to look up your family names. Therefore it could have been easy for me to over look names. My copy of the census came from www.heritagequest.com and may have been copies of copies. Handwriting can be difficult to read and also on most of the bottoms of the pages, you cannot read names at all. Below is the closest I could find for your request without a index. Hope this is what your looking for. Please let me know. Cathy Paugh’s Union District June 11, 1900 208A&B Paugh, Taylor, head, wm, June 1847, 52, Married 8 (He and parents listed from Maryland. He was a Farmer, he could read, but could not write. Owned his farm free. Wife, Louisa, wf, May 1852, 48, married 8, 3 children, 3 living. She and parents born in WV. She would read and write. Lela M, Daughter, Apr.1894, 6 (Older children must have already left home) Mary, Mother, Feb.1816, 84, wd, 1 child, 1 living. Also found: 132 A. Paugh, William, 47, w/Amanda, sons, Artie 8 & Charles 4 ********************** I need info on a Zacahriah Taylor Paugh and family. He was born about 1846. Is he listed for those years?
