Bev - The Preston County marriage record of Lizzie N. Braham indicates that she married in 1884 to James W. (not John William) Freeland. The license was issued at the instance of William Paugh, with a letter from the father. I have in my files a James Braham married to Anna Paugh. They had about 16 children, two names of which I don't have. With this many children, it would not be surprising to find that one or more were raised by someone else. I didn't find a Lizzie in the 1870 or 1880 Preston census. There were more Paughs in Garrett Co., Md. than in Preston Co. James and Anna Braham were at Terra Alta in the 1880 census but Lizzie (probably aged about 14) wasn't there. If it were my search, I'd take a look at the 1880 Garrett Co. Md. Census, expecting to find Lizzie may have been a domestic servant there. Janice Bez4@aol.com wrote: > I am searching for family of Lizzie Braham from Preston County. I have him married to a Barbara with no last name. Children: Sarah (Salome); John; Mary (Marie); Henry; Suzzane; Stephen, Nicholas.
Based on info I have, prepared by another researcher: Barbara Rosier b2Jul1800 who married Stephen Bolyard listed her father as Francis Rosier on her marriage record. And, they had a son they named Francis. Stephen Bolyard was the son of Stephen and Barbara Margaret Neifer. Lyle Corder

Rob - I've seen a picture of the Coffman-Fisher store and as far as I know, it was general merchandise, mostly dry goods. Rosalie, Yes, I would like a copy of any of the Plumb (Blume)/Stimmel information. My email is: bevhelton@mindspring.com. Please send me your mailing address so that I may send you a SASE. Also, please give me the full source information for the book, "Allegheny Passage." Perhaps I can find a copy here to see or buy. Beverly in AZ
Good Morning Beverly, Yes! There are Plums, old spelling (Blume) Hampshire Co, W.Va., 1770 to 1812, closely associated with the Brethren at Beaver Run, with whom they intermarried. Catherine Plum, B:3 Mar. married Michael Stimmel. Jacob Plum married Hannah Magdalene Stimmel. In 1812 , Some of the Plum and Stimmel families migrated to Ohio , they continued to marry as the moved west. Found on page 209. There is another whole page on a John Stimmel, and his descendants. If you want I can photo copy if you want and send a self-addressed envelope. Rosalie
Rosalie, Are there any Plums of Plumbs in "Allegheny Passage?" Thank you for your time. Beverly in AZ

Hello Carolyn, I have seen several of your emails. See, "Allegheny Passage", page 532 and 533 for early Harsh families. If you do not have access to this book, I understand it can be purchased from Penobscot Press, Camden, Maine. It covers some families from 1752 to 1990. I will do look-ups from the book, but will not type long histories. Rosalie

I have Catherine's middle name of Caroline from another researcher (I assumed it to be so...?) I'm still wondering...I have this man's name as Frederick H. Harsh, Sr. It has to be the same person. All the dates match, places, and the rest of the family. Have you heard his name other than what you have? My ancestor, John Jacob Harsh, your ancestor's brother (I think...this can get confusing!) married Sarah Wotring! I guess they were brother and sister-or at least related. Anyway, I appreciate all your info and will let you know if I find out anything about them. Thanks again. Mary
