Does any one have a connection to a Homer Rodeheaver? He is supposed to be related to my family lines and have not been able to connect him yet. Thank you, Sandy
Thank you for checking. Apparently, from information I have received, Mahala Tilda Ringer was listed in a family bible as the wife of Andrew Friend. I have obituaries from several of her children, some list the mother as Mahala Ringer, some Mahala Browning. Maybe someday, someone will come across these posts in the archives and have an answer. Again, thank you. Pat-T
Pat, I tried the indexes for the books I have, searching Ringer, Friend and Browning, I did not find a Mahala. Sorry. The Ringer family was a large one, there was a large Ringer family in Somerset Co. Pa, with relatives in Preston Co. WV. and Md. R. Miller
Pamela, You are on. Everytime I see you name I associate it with the Biggins who owned the Century 21 Franchise for South Florida. While you are looking over your Ringer files, could you check to see if either of you may have a Mahala Tilda Ringer 1843-1888 listed? I have her name and have seen listings that she married Andrew Grant Friend 1838-1912. Others list her as Mahala Browning. It is just one of those genealogy mysteries that I am trying to solve. Many thanks, Pat-T
I found the info, below, in my notes. Hope it helps you. Another researcher sent it to me. Carolyn desc. of Anna Catherine Ringer-Custer 1784-1846 ======= William C Ringer (1830 - 1899) and Mary Ann Smith(1831-1912). They had six children. William C Ringer was the son of Conrad R Ringer (May 7 1807 - Jan 3 1893) and Mary Ann Silbaugh (1805-Nov/7/1877). I know of at least 4 children. Conrad and Mary jane are buried in Centenary Cemetery, Pleasant District, Preston County. Conrad was one of five brothers who came from Somerset County, Pennsylvania in 1832. Six members of the family were in Union forces in Civil War. Cemeteries with Ringers abound: Bruceton, Centenary, Lutheran at Lenox, Maplewood, Masontown, Mt Moriah, Parnell, Sugar Valley, and Thomas at Salem (src.Hazel Ringer Wiles/D. Halbritter column) =====
This is just a test to see if I'm still on the list. I haven't heard a peep in a while..... _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com

Another researcher sent the following info to me. It may explain the origins of the given name, "Zar". Just thought y'all would like to know Holy Bible. Chapter 26 Verse 20.... This is from the King James Version. NKV. Quote Chap. 26: 20 And the sons of Judah according to their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites, of Perez, the family of Parzites: of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites. Note the spelling of Zerah and Zarhites. Carolyn in NC
