Surnames: England, Hunt, Alexander, Stalnaker, Cheuvront, Sturm, Alexander Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/IEC.2ACE/755 Message Board Post: Hello Everyone, I am looking for information on Henry England (Inglan). He was supposed to have been from PENN., bought land in the town of Beverly 1795-1798 & sold land in Beverly 1800. Henry then bought land in the area of Beaver Creek, now Barbour, WV. There is a survey of Henry's (deceased) land in 1831 for the heirs of Susanna Stalnaker, Elizabeth Sheveroun (Cheuvront) and John England. I am looking for leads on the heirs of Henry. I can't find any information on these heirs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help in advance. Kirby
That was interesting, to say the least. No clues as to who was Catherine Ringer who married Andrew Samuel Teats/Teets. Would appreciate any leads anyone might have. Whetsell School (and presumeably the "Settlement"?) is 3 miles SSE of where Rt 7 crosses Cheat River, just NW of the first fork in Joes Run (counting upstream from Cheat) and there are about a dozen homes within a mile of it, as of the 1923 date on the map. I've never been back the "Whetsell Settlement Road" & don't know if the road is still passable into Rowlesburg or Manheim, or if the Whetsell School building is still there.
Roy, This could be the one I am looking for. Thank you, I will keep looking, fo rmore. Sandy
Robert , Thank you. I am not aware Henry Miller is in my line. Mine is Peter, John P. James G., Ray and me. Rosalie
Jean, There was a Henry Luther Van Meter family in the St. George, WV area in the 1880. I have no other information.
Good Morning Sandy, I will give you what I have on Homer A. Rodeheaver, and hope it is the one you are researching. Homer A. Rodeheaver, B: 28 Jun 1905, Braddock, PA, D: 4 Dec 1952 son of Charles A. Rodeheaver and Emma Mae Benson. Homer married 10 Aug. 1922 to Cassie Kelly, 2nd to Ressie Lashorn. Had brothers Wilbur and Staley Franklin. Source of information, "Christian Fike and His Descendants" Merilyn Fike Morrow, page 549, Homer's Mother Emma descended from Fikes on her maternal line. A Mrs. Friend gave my Father a copy of Homer Rodeheaver's book, "Song Stories of the Sawdust Trail", 1917, foreward by Rev. "Billy" Sunday. I have the book. There is a Friend-Rhodeheaver connection to my maiden Miller side by I do not know how, I do mainly direct line genealogy. Hope this helps

Roy, Thanks so much for your info. I appreciate the info. Now I can go on with the next puzzle that I find. :-) My grandmother had Mary Martin in her info but I couldn't find anything else. Guess she really knew what she wrote down. Again, thanks. Barb Kelley in FL ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Also in the book it says that Thomas Martin was the same man as Charles Martin who lived at Fort Martin in Monongalia Co. I have proven that to be wrong. Thomas and Olive Van Meter Martin are both brick walls of mine. I think there must be some connection with Charles Martin for such a bizarre story to be told, but I do not know what it is. Jean

Who was Francis Rosier's wife and what were their birth & death dates? Stephen b. 1801,who was married to Barbara Rosier, b. 1801, were in the Preston Co. Census of 1850. They were the parents of Jemima, who married James Ridenour, later Nicholas Bolyard. Do you have more info. as to birth and death dates of Stephen & Barbara? Could this Stephens' parents be Stephen Balliet Bolyard b. 1760 in Heidelburg Township, Lehigh, Pa. This Stephen's wife was Barbara Margaret Neifer b. 1770 in same Twp. in Lehigh, Pa. Let me know if I can be of help.
Barb, Oops! Mary was born ca 1825 instead of ca 1817 when she married Jacob Ervin. Math is not one of my strong points. Roy Lockhart My note: Mary was born ca 1817 instead of 1801 according to her age at remarriage to Jacob Ervin in Preston Co on Apr 12, 1858. Mayfield should be Holyfield. (Holyfield is the spelling Morton uses for this surname.)
