    1. Re: [WV Preston County] Re: Deal/Deahls in Preston
    2. Dear Jane: Hello my name is Melinda Clark-Black. I am a native from Preston County. I currently live in Chester County, PA. Could you give me any more details regarding Sarah Deahl marrying a Lockey Clark? He married a 2nd time to my g.g.grandmother (Mary Catherine Stemple). They married in Tunnelton, Preston County, WV on April 14, 1873. Then Mary died in 1879. Lockey was also known as (Loughlin, Laughlin & Loughrie) His last name started as Clarke and then changed to Clark. He came from Ireland in 1836 and settled first in Cumberland, MD and then he moved his first family to Preston County ========= Elsewhere on p. 425, Morton says that Henry was born in 1791; that Jacob m. Sarah Burke; that Henry Jr. married second Jennie Hovatter Cox --- nothing on first wife; George was killed by R.R. circa 1877; Simon m. Catharine Sliger. JOhn went to PA. Andrew J. m. Rhoda Frankhouser. Barbar m. first Peter McGinnis and second Joseph Durst. Sarah m. Lockey Clark, Susan married Alexander Kelley and Mary married John Flanagan. Regards ========== Thanks Melinda Black

Jacob Fike Jr. was married to Catherine Thomas (I also have the Thomas history, if you want it). Jacob was son of Jacob Fike and Eve Moyer, married circa 1789. Jacob was son of Christian Fike and Barbara ? I can send you more later, I got my info from the book Christian Fike and his descendents by Merilyn Fike Morrow. Lydia is suppose to be the daughter of Jacob Fike Jr. On the 1870 Maryland census her birth place was listed as West Virgina so there's a possiblity that they may be connected to either of these families---Myrna > > ______________________________
