Seeking background information on Manerva Cupp born probably August 4, 1832, Preston County, (West) Virginia. She married Henry J. Feik (his second marriage) on October 15, 1856. (or August 1, 1856) Seven children all born near Accident in Allegany County, Maryland. He had three children by first wife. She died March 11, 1911 and is buried near Accident, Garrett Co., MD. Linda, Preston County West Virginia History 1979 (reprinted 2001) by the Preston County Historical Society names eight children of Evan & Hannah (Graham) Jenkins. As this book is still being sold, I will only say that John and Jonathan Jenkins are included in the list of their children; that is, there was both a John and a Jonathan in this family. The 1850 census of Preston Co includes #1606-1606 Evan & Hannah Jenkins hh, #1607-1607 Jonathan & Mary Ann Jenkins hh and #1616-1616 John & Eliza Jenkins hh. Jonathan Jenkins (died 1864) is buried very near to Evan & Hanna Jenkins in the Jenkins cemetery. It appears from available sources that Jonathan Jenkins was the son of Evan & Hannah (Graham) Jenkins. Edward Thorp King's Some Early Families in Grant and Pleasant Districts, Preston County, West Virginia states on page 41 that Albert F King married Hester A Jenkins born Apr 18, 1823, daughter of Evan & Hannah (Graham) Jenkins. Also, on page 179 is the cemetery record for Hanna, daughter of Evan and Hanna Jenkins, who died at age 13. This would make a ninth child for them. Hope this helps. All buried Jenkins Cemetery about one mile south west of Mt. Nebo Church, in west part of Pleasant District, Preston County, W. Va. Copied July 15, 1931. Can someone please do a lookup for me on the Terra Alta Cemetery (Cranberry) in Preston Co.,WV A manuscript written by Thomas Ray Dille lists my ANNARAH RIGGS [DENT] FOGLE b.4-8-1803 d.4-1-1892 died and buried at Terra Alta,Preston Co.,WV unless there is another Cemetery in Terra Alta she would be buried at. I believe she is listed as Riggs or Dent, because I have the Fogle`s that are listed at the Terra Alta Cemetery. Greetings, I am looking for the parents of my ggggrandmother Elizabeth Scott (Sterling) Gooding/Goodwin. Elizabeth lived near Bruceton Mills, Preston County, WV, and married Daniel Gooding/Goodwin. She was born June 6, 1817 and died March 22, 1889. It could be that Scott was her mother maiden name. Delores
