Braham: According to Pioneers of Preston County Nicholas was the son of James. James was the son of Thomas Jr. married to Polly Elsey & then Rachel Calhoun.I do not see that this Nicholas(Married to Rachel Freeland) had a sister Lizzie. I have a great deal of Braham info & cannot find Lizzie married to James Freeland in my husbands family. Karen
Has anyone seen the name Herrinh anywhere in Preston County records? Thanks Beverly Railey Walter

Sandy - There is a Jeffreys Cemetery in Preston County near Hazelton, WV. We also had a Harned Funeral Home whose owner moved from Hazelton to Brandonville. What are you looking for? Does anyone have information about Nicholas Braham (b. 1855) married to Rachel Freeland born 1869-died 1958? No guarantees on these dates, just a scribbled note! Thank you. I'm hoping that Nicholas had a sister Elizabeth or Lizzie married to James William Freeland. Beverly Railey Walter
I would like to locate Harden Funeral Home and Jeffries Cemetery. Thank you, Sandy

Hello Lynn Taylor, Is your direct Fike Ancestor Magdalena? Mine is Susannah. They were daughters of Peter Fike and Magdalena Arnold Fike. The book I referred to is "Christian Fike and His Descendants" 1996, by Merilyn B. Fike Morrow, 5215 Casa Grande Road, Temple, PA 19560. I do not know if it is still available. I assume so. It is a valuable resource of over 1300 pages to those of us who are related to the Fikes and the related families. In the early years the German Brethren Church Families of Fike, Arnold, Snyder and Weimer were closely allied. Rosalie
Roy, I am interested in a copy of the book you quoted from . Is it possible to buy one. The Weimer and Fike are my lines. My Grandfather was Edwin Clarence Weimer. sara roymiller@wyoming.com wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/IEC.2ACE/754.2.1.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Quoting from Merilyn B. Hello, Edythe (Edith) Freeland was the Postmistress in Corinth, W.Va. (in the 30's). She and her sister Ida lived in a house by the post office, and raised beautiful flowers. An alley separated the house we lived in on the other side of the post office. Edythe and Ida, use to stop and get us, Arthur and I, and walk with us to the Methodist Church, on Sunday morning. Ida walked with a cane. If we did not sit still in church she would hook one of our legs with a her cane. Both the sister were fond of children, and many children were invited into their home and treated with homemade cookies. We moved from Corinth in late 1934 or early 1935. Rosalie Miller-Miller
