Thank you for your information. I have the History of Preston County by Morton. I didn't know if it was the same book Susan has or if it is a different one. Thank you Susie youngl@rosenet.net -----Original Message----- From: Robert Smith <rcnls69@msn.com> To: WVPRESTO-L@rootsweb.com <WVPRESTO-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Sunday, July 21, 2002 7:51 PM Subject: Re: [WV Preston County] Re: TICHENELL in WV >Beverly, > > I have some Titchnell's (maybe different spelling) in my family line which go back to the original pioneer, Stephen Titchnell according to Morton's "A History of Preston County, Part I". He had a daughter, Mary, born about 1801 and died in 1881. I haven't dug far enough to determine a marriage. Stephen supposedly came to Preston County in 1797. > > I don't know if this helps. > >Rob > >----- Original Message ----- >From: Beverly Ann Helton >Sent: Sunday, July 21, 2002 8:59 PM >To: WVPRESTO-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [WV Preston County] Re: TICHENELL in WV > >To: Susie Young, > >Do you happen to have a Mary Tichenell who married a John Plum/b in >Monongalia or West Virginia? Thank you, Rob. However, this Mary would be a little young for my John, as his children were born about the same time as (or before) the birth of your Mary. Maybe this Mary married one of the later John Plumbs, as there seem to be many, many John Plumbs in this general area. I'll keep her in mind. Thanks, again. Beverly
Greetings, Do you have any Hartman, Goodwin/Gooding or Bowman? Is this the book by Morton? Delores in CA
To: Susie Young, Do you happen to have a Mary Tichenell who married a John Plum/b in Monongalia or West Virginia? It would probably be in the late 1700s. Thank you, Beverly in AZ
To Susan Craig, When you have time to come up for air, please check out PLUM/PLUMB, TICHNELL/TICHENELL and FULLER in your 1914 book by Whetshell. bevhelton@mindspring.com Thank you so much. Beverly in AZ

Could anyone tell me if Russ Ringer of Clifton Mills/Bruceton Mills area is still living??? I know he would be close 100 yrs old now. I talked with him by phone about 7 years ago. Could anyone tell me when/if he passed away and when, where he is buried, etc. He said he and a son took care of the Cuppett--Teets Cem. in Clifton Mills. I loved talking with him. He was a boy of about 15 and was present when they found my grandfather, Hampton Frederick Mosser dead in the Mosser field . Hamp died of apoplexy in spring of 1917. Russ married Helen Silbaugh. Helen died ca 1988. Any help appreciated. Pat Hook
Hi Carolyn, My connection to Harsh families is indirect. My Uncle Ai Snyder (son of Peter and Amanda Arnold Snyder) married Ora Harsh, married 17 Apr. 1933. Aunt Ora's parents were John Wesley (son of Stephen and Mariah Porter Harsh) and Clara Roth My Great Uncle George Snyder (son of Silas and Mary Ann Ford Snyder)married 2 Aug. 1914 to Gertrude C. Harsh. She was the daughter of Lloyd and Rachel Loughrie Harsh. Lloyd was the son of Stephen and Mariah Porter Harsh. Stephen was the son of Frederick and Sarah Bolyard. This Frederick was the son of George Frederick and Catherine Cora ( ? ) Harsh My second cousin Cora L. Hewitt (daughter of Marcellus Washington "Wash" and Melinda Bucklew Hewitt married Ira M. Harsh, son of Lloyd and Rachel Loughrie Harsh. Another cousin, Effie Anna Fike (dau. of John S. Fike, son of Samuel A. Fike) married Jesse Frank Harsh. 20 Jun 1909. Most, if not all, were church of the Brethren. Jesse and Effie had a son Alva, who along with his wife were missionaries to China, both were killed in China. I think one of the Harsh men married an Arnold but can't come up with a name at this time My information is from notes by my mother, Cecil Snyder, Solomon Snyder, and Aunt Ora.

If you come across any information re Eugene Wheeler I would be most appreciative. By the way, Eugene's father, David Wheeler, moved to Reedsville in 1865-66 so Masontown wasn't that far off. I have looked in Janice Cale Sisler's books--all 3--of Tombstone Readings of Preston Co., WV, and haven't located Eugene in any of them. He remains the "Mystery Man" of the David Wheeler family.

"charles franklin and john edwards jenkins are part of of the old morgan survey,_hence the name morgan's glade.ok, i do see william mason, but listed on page 3. my vol II starts at page 571. as i said above the clarksons and masons could very well be mentioned in this book even though not in index. as i comb through it ,should i see anything i will post it here. again send email address and i will scan the jenkins pages to you if you want them.more associated names even not direct decendants give me places to check.
