My great grandfather was Daniel Simon Shaffer 1845--1937 s/o William Shaffer 1809--1891 & Rebecca Fries. 1813--1892. (g-g grandparents) Daniel Shaffer m; Elnora Saucer 1845--1929 d/o Christian C. Hi, I don't have Susan Shaffer listed with a birthdate any where close to 1821. I also don't have any Daniel Shaffer's at all. There is at least one other Shaffer family in Preston Co. that is totally unrelated to my line of Shaffers. I'm wondering if the Mary Frances Hewitt, who married Daniel Shaffer, is in any way related to my Mary Hewett, who first married George Wile in Maryland, June 27, 1838. He died, and she married 24 May, 1842, James Tidy Burch. They had a large family and eventually moved to Saltlick, Preston Co., WV. Mary Hewett's parents were William Hewett (b.14 June, 1778, d. 14 May, 1837) and Marie (b.5 June,1796, d.4 May, 1837), parents unknown. I have no earlier information on this lineage. Paternal line: Mary Frances Hewitt, age 19, married 18 July 1871, to Daniel Shaffer, age 24, in Preston Co., WV. Oral history is that she died giving birth to their first child, and he remarried. Would like any history on linage of this child. It is believed family historians have child listed under Daniel's second wife.

Art, I went through the website and it is not my Jacob Myers. I have found so many Jacob's over the years. I have a g-uncle Jacob who had sons Paul, Warren and 6 more that I can't remember off the top of my head and they moved to Canton in the 40's.
