I have visited that website, and think that it is wonderful. I have found info on my other Preston Co, line..the Bolyards. I can't believe I didn't think about it before, but I'm sending away for my gg-grandmother's death certificate in KS. My assumption all along has been that she is the daughter of Samuel D. & Catherine Knotts...hopefully, her death certificate is able to confirm/deny that assumption...then I can continue my search from there.

Ursula was born Feb 24, 1841 in Preston Co. Any info??

Thanks Roy, I'm looking for info on a John H Fauley who married Mary Ann (Criss) Ashby some time after her first husband Joseph M Ashby died in "the Tunnelton Disaster" in 1879. He seems to have come from outside Preston Co and vanished soon after the marriage. Joe

Thanks for the reply Jim, We have found the area. It was in Garrett County, part of the large tract of land owned by Gen. John Swan and his "Small Meadows" which was located just outside (today's) Oakland, Maryland, near the West Virginia border. There is also a Strawberry Plains mentioned as bordering Friend's Delight, Sang Run, Maryland. The name probably no longer exists on today's maps ----- Original Message ----- From: "J. M.
