Hi folks, hope someone can help with this. There is a ROY marriage record in Randolph Co. that started me on a search. Randolph Co. marrriages, bk 3 pg 2 - 1854 Mary Roy, age 16, of Randolph Co., dau of Washington & Phebe Roy Simeon Davis, age 23, of Pendleton Co., son of J. & Sarah Davis married by Jos. Roy (Mary Roy c1838, Simeon Davis c1831 - I believe Mary may have been younger than this record indicates, probably c1840 or c1841 according to the later census) Anybody missing a Phebe that could have died about 1840-1842 and could have been married to Washington Roy? RE: MARY ROY (c1840) Washington Roy (c1822), son of Joseph Roy & Sarah Summerfield, is the only Washington Roy I know about so far in that time period. Jesse L. Roy (c1816), son of Joseph Roy & Sarah Summerfield married Mary Vance in 1842 in Randolph. (Mary Vance dau of Robert Vance & Catherine Barnhouse) Isaac Roy (c1812), son of Joseph Roy & Sarah Summerfield married Emily Vance in 1836 in Pendleton. (Emily Vance dau of Robert Vance & Catherine Barnhouse) 1850 census, Randolph Co. Roy, Isaac 38, Emily 34 + Roy, Mary 7 (c1843) + Nelson, William 13 + Westfall, Elizabeth 65, pauper (Note, I've been told Isaac Roy's will lists no children). 1870 census in DeWitt Co., Illinois: Davis, Simeon 39, Mary 29 & family. (Simeon c1831, Mary c1841-Roy) Roy, Jesse L. 53, Mary 47 & family. (Jesse c1817, Mary c1823-Vance) 1880 census in Champaign Co., Ilinois: Davis, Simeon 49, Mary 40 & family. (Simeon c1831, Mary c1840) RE: SIMEON DAVIS (c1831) 1850 census in Pendleton, there is a Simeon Davis, age 19, son of Jesse Davis Sr., but Jesse Davis' wife is Irene and is only 21. I think this Jesse Davis was previously married to Elizabeth Bland in 1827 in Pendleton. Could Elizabeth have gone by Sarah, or am I on the wrong track? (There are so many J. Davis entries in Pendleton!!) Any feedback appreciated, Cathy
