According to the 1900 West Virginia Census, Randolph County, page 29a, Dry Fork District it lists: Solomon Pennington head M June 1847 age 53, Jane wife F Mar 1850 age 50, Mary S (Ketterman is written in and showing it crossed off) daughter F Feb 1872 age 28 wd, Joshua Pennington son M Jan 1884 age 16, Ruth daughter F Aug 1885 age 14, George son M Oct 1894 age 5, Allen son M Apr 1898 age 2. Mary S Pennington married Michael Ketterman and had several children: Perry Anderson Ketterman, Lucy Ketterman, William Ketterman, and Rosa Ketterman. I have not been able to locate Michael Ketterman on the West Virginia 1900 Census and the children are not with Mary in the census with her father and mother. Can someone help me with this? What state was Michael Ketterman in at the time. I have searched the 1900 Census of West Virginia for him and he is not in West Virginia. Perhaps he and the children are in another state and Mary S. was just visiting? Or Michael Ketterman went by another name? I really need help on this one. Thanks Debbie
The census you cite says that Mary was a widow in 1900.
