The Haslacker sisters were early Skidmore historians, at least of the Pendleton County branch, and contributed greatly to The Henckel Genealogy. Capt. John Skidmore is my ancestor. A revised Skidmore Genealogy by Warren Skidmore is available on CD-rom. I do want to remind anyone researching these families that The Henckel Genealogy was published almost 40 years ago and much is based upon "family records." Since then we have published an additional 1300 pages of additions and corrections to the families presented in this Genealogy. There are many, many minor errors and omissions but also some major ones in the Pendleton County families which are proven and DOCUMENTED in the "Henckel Genealogical Bulletin," begun in 1970 by Mary Harter and others, now deceased. Major Pendleton County errors: 1. Hannah Hinkle was NOT the aunt of President Andrew Johnson. 2. The wife of Abraham Hinkle #59 was Catharine Miller, not Teter.
