I have read that prior to 1800 the law of Virginia required that marriages be registered in the Anglican Parish of the region. I am assuming this was pre Revolutionary War period. Therefore there may be marriage information that could be obtained from UVA records or British records through the Anglican Church. Has anyone ever researched this area for marriage info?
