Hello, I have looked into this family and found that they stem from a Leonard and Tabitha Day originally from Prince George Co. Maryland. In 1776 they are listed on the Frederick Co. Maryland colonial census: 1776 Colonial census Maryland DAY BAZEL , North West Hundred, Fredrick Co.Md. 5 DAY ELIZABETH , North West Hundred, Fredrick Co.Md. 11 in house of Petter Becraft DAY EZEKEL , North West Hundred, Fredrick Co.Md. 9 DAY JOHN , Lower Potomack Hundred, Fredrick Co. Md. 8 DAY KATHARINE , Lower Potomack Hundred, Fredrick Co. Md. 71 DAY LENERD , North West Hundred, Fredrick Co.Md. 40 DAY MARY , Lower Potomack Hundred, Fredrick Co. Md. 16 DAY SAMUEL , North West Hundred, Fredrick Co.Md. 14 DAY SARAH , Lower Potomack Hundred, Fredrick Co. Md. 40 DAY SARAH , North West Hundred, Fredrick Co.Md. 7 DAY SUSANAH , North West Hundred, Fredrick Co.Md. 11 DAY TOBITHA , North West Hundred, Fredrick Co.Md. 36 DAY TOBITHA , North West Hundred, Fredrick Co.Md. 2 DAY JOSHUA Bush River Lower 100, Harford Co.MD. 15 in house of Joseph Rose Notice Basil Day is five years old in 1776, putting his birth at 1771. In 1794, age 23 he married Susannah Lamb in Pendleton Co. Va. I found Leonard Day in Hardy Co. soon after the Rev. War.(perhaps he moved his family there after the war) and he was a Pvt. in the war. His son Samuel Day was also in the Rev. War. I have the references to Leonard Day in Hardy Co., I will have to look for them. I also saw that Basil Day owned land in Hardy Co. that later became Grant Co. Basil Day and Susannah Lamb had a daughter Elizabeth Day who married Christian Hedrick in Pendleton Co. I have found info on Leonard (Ezekiel, Samuel) but am interested in the children of Basil "Bazzle" (Ezekiel, Samuel) and Susannah Lamb & her parents. Does anyone know about Basil (Samuel), brother of Ezekiel? Any info would be helpful. > > Rosemary Sponaugle Petersen > > > ==== WVPENDLE Mailing List ==== > Genealogy without documentation is mythology! > >
Grant Survey GRANTEE Kimbel, Lambert. grantee. DATE 20 September 1800. NOTE Location: Hardy County. NOTE Description: 43 acres adjoining the lands of Bazil Day on Little New Creek. NOTE Source: Northern Neck Grants Y, 1798-1800, p. 440 (Reel 304). The above was from a land grant that mentioned a Bazil DAY. I am interested in the Basil Day that married Susannah Lamb in 1794 in Pendleton County. He is not listed on the 1810 census in Pendleton Co. I found the above land survey that mentions a Basil Day living in Hardy Co. near Little New Creek. Does anyone know if this is the Basil Day who married Susannah Lamb? Anyone have information on their children? Ezekial, Samuel, and a John Day were in Pendleton co. in the late 1700's. I believe Ezekial, and Samuel are his brothers. I am not sure how John Day fits in. Thanks for any help.In a prior post I showed a Leonard Day as having land in Hardy Co., I believe he was Basil's father. Becky Lucas
