"Jackie" Morton, 77, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Webster Springs, W.Va., died June 20, 2003, in Grand Strand Memorial Hospital, Myrtle Beach. She was a born June 27, 1925. She was a former self-employed hairdresser, a resident of Myrtle Beach for the past eight years, member of the First United Methodist Church, Webster Springs, and a former member of the Webster County Democratic Women's Auxiliary and the Webster Springs Woman's Club. She was preceded in death by her father, Grover Greathouse; mother, Gertrude Hammonds Greathouse; husband, Hampton Morton. Surviving relatives include a son, Brad Morton of Covington, Va.; daughter, Susan Gally of Little River, S.C.; grandsons, Gary Michael Hershman of Scottsdale, Ariz., Christopher Matthew Hershman of Austin, Texas. Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, with the Rev. Calvin McCutcheon officiating. Burial will be in Blacks Chapel Cemetery, Camden on Gauley, W.Va.Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2003, at the funeral home.
