    3. Nedra, this is becoming more and more puzzling. I deleted that Vol. 3, Issue 40 message , so I am unable to send it to you. Next time I see a similar example I will forward it. But here are a couple of puzzling things: You say Volume 3 should go back ten years or so. This message you sent yesterday (7 July) was contained in Vol. 3, Issue 42. This is right in sequence with the post I complained about a couple of days ago, Vol. 3, Issue 40. I don't keep a log of volume numbers and issue numbers, but surely Rootsweb or somebody does. I prefer the Digest mode instead of the L mode because it saves me time. At least it used to back in the day when there was a lot of traffic here. But another puzzling thing is your comment that a Digest is sent every day. I don't get one every day. Sometimes not every week. It just seems to depend on when people want to send something. And all the superfluous garbage I am seeing appears to be coming from Rootsweb, not from the person sending a message. I'll send you an example later. Bill Rexroad Hutchinson, Kansas

    3. Bill, Thanks for the notes and info. This has all been most educational for all of us. Like you, I have no idea how they number their Volumes. I would suspect that a digest is sent only when there are messages to send, so you would only receive a digest on days when it is triggered by a message. We definitely have not had messages every day over the past few months. Since we have determined that this is an automated footer from the message board posts, that moderator/manager, Willow, is pursuing it. Do you receive the footer as English words or non-readable characters? That would be another problem. Nedra At 11:41 AM 7/8/2008 -0400, you wrote: >Nedra, this is becoming more and more puzzling.
