    2. Dear Sandra: Looking at your map and my state road map it appears that the Lough property I was on and the place the graves are located were part of the Adam Lough 138 acre grant. I can't be positive, but, it sure looks like it to me. I assume you know that Adam Lough was an appraiser of Jacob Conrad's estate and that he named a son Conrad. I also descend from the Harpoles through Sarah Harpole who married John Lough, son of Adam. I have been to their graves too. For years, many people thought Adam Lough's wife was Barbara Conrad, but, I think she was a Lack. Our friend Isaac Richard Lough has passed on by now, I am sure. He never married, stayed on the home place and should have known a lot about the family. I have a pic of him on my wall in front of me. We just loved spending time with him. He really liked my wife, the ole rascal. Lyle Corder **************Get fantasy football with free live scoring. Sign up for FanHouse Fantasy Football today. 3. Dear Lyle, I don't think we share any common ancestors although a couple of my ancestresses' families remain unproven. But, we certainly share some history with the land. The Harpoles bought the land that was Michael Mallow's first grant in then Augusta County - the 470 acres adjoining Adam Lough. Michael was on the land by the fall of 1753 (probably a year or so before that) when the survey was made and he sold it in 1768 after his wife died. James Mountgomery bought it and then sold it the next year to Adam Harpole at a hefty premium. I've followed the division of that land out and will post it at some point. I've made quite a few genealogical notes on the Loughs because of their proximity to the Mallows as well as the interaction between the families. It's been a great help to understand where the various properties were actually located. So many things now make sense that previously didn't. Thanks for all your help, Sandra ----- Original Message ----- From: Wvlyle@aol.com<mailto:Wvlyle@aol.com> To: wvpendle@rootsweb.com<mailto:wvpendle@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, July 17, 2008 6:45 PM Subject: Re: [WVPENDLE] Adam Lough's 88 acres, 53 acres, 138 acres, and 80 acres - cor...
