Jean, It seems he patented his land in 1787 under another variation of the name [possibly Cheuveront instead of the transcribed Chenveront although I see why the mistake was made when looking at the recording ] - see below. He may have been on the land sooner as was common for the patent process but it's likely he was gone before May of 1791 so he may only have been in the present day Pendleton area a few years. It's of course possible he was there longer but not as a land owner . . . maybe someone else knows.
