If Samuel Day is related to Leonard Day who came from Frederick Co. Md. down to Va. after the Rev. War, then perhaps this is the area Samuel moved to....I found this in Hardy Co. Va.Deed Book 1 " 8 Jun 1789; James Stone and wife Rebeccah Stone to Leonard Day, 317 acres for 30 pounds on the north face of Branch Mountain adj. to Col. Nevill and the great Cacapon." This land is in Hardy Co. West Virginia and is very near to Pendleton Co. A part of Pendleton County was also formed from Hardy County in December 1787. (12 Hening, Ch 35 pp. 86-88) Becky
