I had no problem accessing the maps per your instructions, and I thank you for sharing this information. Judy Corrin In a message dated 2/28/2009 9:06:01 A.M. The questioner received the active hyperlink without duplication and the list posted it with duplication. If that's my fault or my computer's fault, one of us is way more clever than I thought to be able to write one thing and have two recipients receive different link language. (Alternately, rootsweb did, in fact, make the duplication on the posting because I didn't write in, uh, plain text). (Whoever uses the link language that was posted in your email to the list will also have to look at it carefully and remove "test" at the beginning or it won't work either when they copy and paste it). Regarding the original email which indicated that the questioner had accessed the Maps posting via ancestry with an attachment link that directed her to a dysfunctional page - I NEVER made that posting to ancestry. If it's ancestry's policy to pick up rootsweb postings but redirect attachment links to a non-working page, it's more than unfortunate. I hope my text comes through plain enough this time . . . I made the postings thinking that they would help, I attached the maps for the same reasons but I don't have the time (nor the patience, obviously) to redirect everyone who accesses the postings through ancestry, so I ask that all the Maps postings I made be deleted because this will be a never-ending problem which will only make me crankier each time. Thanks for the enlightenment and for removing the Maps postings. ----- Original Message ----- From: Willow Nelson<mailto:alwaysblessedbe@yahoo.com> To: wvpendle@rootsweb.com<mailto:wvpendle@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, February 27, 2009 7:46 PM Subject: Re: [WVPENDLE] Maps are attachments at Pendleton County rootsweb I don't believe it is the RootsWeb system, so am sending this as a testhttp://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.westvirginia.counties.pend leton/1778/mb.ashx I have sent this in "plain text" (as all messages to RootsWeb mailing lists should be) and the URL does not appear as a clickable link while I'm composing it in Yahoo.
