It does have a scale and likely was drawn by a surveyor or someone with surveying skills. It is not comprehensive but contains a significant amount of data for the communities between the Alleghaney [sic] Mountain on the west and the North Fork mountain on the east and from the Pendleton County line with Grant and Tucker Cos. on the north to the Hunting Ground settlement on the south. It shows streams - even some of the smaller ones - roads, railroad lines and plots the corners of quite a few parcels but not all. Certain P.O.'s are indicated as are various neighborhoods - Smoke Hole settlement, Harman Hills settlement, Timber Ridge settlement, etc. Again there are obvious omissions of grant predating the drawing of the map but I've listed parcels that were ID'd. East of the North Fork from the S: Robert McCulloh 8665a B H Hiner 400a Pendleton Boggs 600a Harrison Good 500a B H Hiner several grants probably 600 a Cyrus Champ 1200a B H Hiner 461a Joseph and Benajmin Chambers 22750a through which the northernmost portion of the South Branch in Pendleton Co. runs and which contains a portion of Cave Mountain. On or near Spruce Mountain from the S Condon and Lane Lumber Co on what appears to be another of Levi Hollingsworth large grants. Wm H. Cunningham 1000a Jacob Phares 1938a B H Hiner 486.43a Joshua Day no acreage shown West of Phare, Hiner, and Day is "Sites Land" North of Mouth of Seneca and the Wagon Road to Harman in no particular order: Robert McCulloh 29895a which appears to exclude the other grants in that area: D.G. McClung Heirs 206a and 3100a B H Hiner has several more parcels in this area Adam Carr no acreage shown Wm H.
