    3. Hello - My wife has this family in her direct line - related to the Fisher family of Pendleton Co.. I cannot answer your question directly, but I assume Ulrich, Sr. is a brother to Jacob, Sr.. Here are my notes on Jacob, the elder. Came to America 5 Sep 1750, to VA in June 1763 Surname sometimes spelled Coonrod or Cunrodt Conrad Family Bible Swiss data comes from Trissa Haefling, Warren, OH by Jeff Carr Deed records Pendleton Co., WVA, pub. by Rick Toothman, especially 2 tracts on North Mill Creek, per Deed Book O, p 225 24 Oct 1789 which property was passed on through the family via George's wife Elizabeth Conrad, dau of Jacob, Sr. There are several other deed records in Toothman's book that pertain to our Fisher & Conrad families. Property on South Fork Mountain, Hardy Co., WVA Henckel Genealogical Bulletin, Vol 10, pub. 1979 Correspondents - C. Donald Fisher, Jeff Carr, & Mary Ann Wamsley Becky Lucas (rlucas@neo.rr.com) posted a query on WVPENDLE@rootsweb.com on 22 Mar 2007 asking if anyone knew about a dau of Jacob & Svena named Mary Conrad who is said to have had an illigitimate dau named Margaret Bartlett, this per the Pendleton Co. list. This Margaret Bartlett m. my ancestor Thomas Collett. Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia, as extracted from the original court records of Augusta Co., VA 1745-1800, Abstracts of Wills Augusta Co., VA, Will Book V, Additional Members of the Executive Committee, p. 143 & 409 - "Jacob Conrad's will - to son Jacob, testator's dwelling place; to dau Barbara, the place she lives on (wife of Charles Hedrick); to dau Elizabeth, the place she lives on, bought of Christopher Thompson and James Skidmore, wife of George Fisher; to dau Mary Conrad's two children, Margaret Barlet, John Clifton, land bought from Samuel Caplingers; to Jonas Friend, a debt to be paid; son to sign his three sisters their deeds by his Earship. Teste: Wolerey Conrad, John Skidmore, George Kile. Proven 19 March 1776 (Translation by Geo. Carpetnter) by the witnesses. Jacob Conrad qualified administrator." Sandra Pope, Project Manager of the Ft. Seybert Heritage Educational Assn., says her project is tracking old cemeteries in Pendleton Co., WVA., and I quote - "The Grave Register, Pendleton Co., WV, 1977, p. 89, states that Jacob came from Switzerland and settled on South Branch in 1763. He is buried on land he owned identified in the GR (Grave Registration) as Old Conrad Cemetery #21. There are 202 graves in this cemetery. Only 15 are identified in the GR." This e-mail came through on the WVPENDLE@rootsweb.com listing 9/3/07. Sandra Pope, sent another e-mail dated Sep 6, 2007 - "The Conrad names that were visible in 1977 were: Jacob, Sr., Jacob, Jr., Hannah Bogard Conrad, Barbara Propst Conrad, Anney Conrad who died at birth, Jane Conrad (no information), Ulrich Conrad, Sarah Currence Conrad, and John Benjamin 1844-1864, son of Laban & Rachel Bible Conrad. The other names listed are Elias Hammer, James Blewitt, Elias Blewitt, Phebe Blewitt, George Blewitt, with the note that the last three Blewitts are children of Charles J. & Deniza Hammer Blewitt. Only two headstones are presently readable." Hope some of this is new to you.
