Markers were either wooden crosses or field stones crudely carved. The Fayette County cemeteries were transcribed twice ca. 1930s-1940s (the Washington Cemetery was read in 1950s) and these records should be at Carnegie Library in Washington CH and also have been microfilmed by LDS. Tombstones disappeared between the first reading and the second one although more stones were also located on the re-reading so both lists should be checked.
