My Leonard Simmons line came from our family bible and information researched by my ancestors. Leonard Simmons was born in Pendleton Co., VA (then, WV now) on January 11, 1806. He married Mary Elizabeth Vandale at Lick Creek, Greenbrier County, VA in 1829. Mary Elizabeth Vandale was born April 3, 1809 in Greenbrier County. The daughter of James and Sarah (Bogs) Vandale and sister of Andrew L. Vandale. With Andrew, Leonard and Mary Simmons and their sons came to what is now Roane Co, then to Wood County in 1832. Luvisa Ferrell Sarah Elizabeth b. 1839 d. 1879 m. G. W. Givens Jeffery C. W. V. b. 2/24/1841 d. 9/27/1913 m. Sallie Burdette Leonard Dillion b. 11/16/1843 d. 3/16/1909 m. Sarah Araminta Goff Mary Jane b. 11/23/1846 d. ? m. George Cain 2m. Frank Marion America Ann b. 12/1849 d. 1913 m. John Chambers Campbell Nicholas b. 12.12.1854 d. 7/22/1930 m.
