I'm responding to two messages I received and certainly appreciate. I'd like to respond using the above e-mail address in the event information I share or receive can be used by others. Another site that may be helpful to Shreve members is Shreve@onelist.com. I've found a few helpful members there as well. A number of years ago I visited West Virginia in the hopes of just gathering some Shreve info. I once asked my grandfather(Max Ross Shreve) what his father's name was and he replied 'Shreve'. I found some of my relatives certainly had that dry English humor. Anyway, I visited my grand-aunt, my grandfather's sister Ethel Hill Shreve and her son Huey Hill. They unfortuanately are both gone now but had provided me with some leads when I visited. The first bit of information they gave me was compiled by a relative of theirs who unfortunately I did not record. John & Eliza Platt Shreve Daniel(Lucinda Weese) b. 1792 John P. (hannah Ayers) William (Rebecca Hedrick) James (Single) Amos(Mary Arbogast) Jane(Single) May(John? Long) Lucinda (Elihu Hedrick) Eliza(Jesse VanMeter) Nancy(Philip Hedrick) Benjamin W. (Lucinda McUlty) Daniel & Lucinda Shreve Hiram W. Sampson P. Mary E. Daniel Young (Mary Kimble) Phoebe Ellen Mahala E. Cyrus H. Theresa Julia A(George Eagle) Carolina (George Hill) <- This must be Emily Carolina Lucinda(David VanMeter) Girl I'll stop there but I've found this info seems to substantiate itself through some other communications. The Hedricks listed above were sons and daughters of Charles and Mary Fisher Hedrick. I think that answers some of the questions from Ray. In the second communication from Diane, she referred to Emily Carolina Shreve. I have her listed above as well. Marty_Mason@hopkins.k12.mn.us is also a relative of hers. Certainly appreciate the communication and hope to fill in gaps of my heritage. Larry James Shreve
