In the description it reads: "James Wood Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia to all to whom these present shall come greeting know ye that by virture of part of a Land office treasury Warrant number four hundred and sixty two, issued the fourteenth day of December one thousand seven hundred and ninety one, There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Charles Halterman a certain tract or parcel of Land containing two hundred acres, by survey bearing date the twenty fourth day of November one thousand seved hundred and ninety five, lying and being in the County of Pendleton on the head water of Straight Creek on Song ridge including a large spring and his own improvement and bounded as followith to Wit beginning at a large white oak and red oaks......................." On a very new map I located Strait Creek northwest of Monterey, Pendleton County, WV. I also found there are two Strait Creeks one is called West Strait Creek. Any help would be appreciated.
