It is always good genealogical practice to obtain the BEST versions of the source. In this case, a second abstract would be better--a photocopy of the original will would be the BEST! You can either view the microfilm by renting it at your local LCS Family History Center Library or request a photocopy from the County Clerk of Pendleton County. Be sure to include a SASE with your request. Never *assume* that the abstractor was perfect! For instance, punctuation was non-existent in the early documents. Does the phrase "my daughters Susan Ann Mary Elizabeth and Phebe Jane" refer to 2, 3, 4, 5 or ? daughters? Unless you are intimately familiar with the family sometimes it is hard to know. Abstractors also have a habit of adding relationships that are not stated in the document.
