Sharon, Did I answer your request? I still have your msg in my file and I can't remember....having a "senior moment" here!!! Meanwhile......here's some infor on Jardan and Simms from a deedbook. Mostly this just proves the people were in the area at a specific time period and, if you can find a good map, with the description, might be able to locate where land was. June 1794- Anthony Johnson and Edward Morton of Hunterton, NJ, 38 acres near the head of Cowpasture Creek; part of 98 acres patented to James Young July 14, 1767, who conveyed to WILLIAM JORDAN, who conveyed to Johnson Oct 1796-WILLIAM and MARY JORDAN to Edward Morton 90 acres on head branches of Cowpasture..........patented to WILLIAM JORDAN, SR Nov 1, 1793. Nov 1803-Henry Burnett to ANDREW JORDAN and Jehu Johnson, Lot # (blank), West Square, Franklin. Oct 1805- Joseph and Catharine Briggs, Ross Co., OH to JOHN JOURDAN, 70 acres on east side of South Branch between the mountain and the river hill opposite Miller's salt blocks. (note: I think South Branch refers to the south branch of the Potomac river. My ancestors owned land on the South Branch and the North Branch, which is on most maps) Aug 1810-Henry Pausel to JOHN JURDON. Lease on plantation and land on Black Thorn. Jul 1812- ANDREW and LETTICE JORDAN and Jehu and Mary Johnson to Joshua Wood. Lot in Franklin opposite that of Isreal Brown. Feb 1809- William and Elizabeth Harris to JAMES SIMS, JR, 3 tracts in Bullpasture Mountains, 77 acres, 14 acres, 49 acres patented Aug 12, 1796.
