In Pendleton County, I am solely researching my gggg grandfather Leonard Simmons, who married Mary Elizabeth Vandal. He was supposedly born in Pendleton County January 1, 1806. It has been said that his ancestor records were destroyed in a court house fire, but there is also some information in books and other family bibles. I am looking for anyone who can help me with his information. It has been said that he should be a direct descendant of Leonhart Simon who came to Virginia in 1753 along with Nickolas Simon.
