Hi Folks, I don't know if this will help anyone or not. My Gt.Grandmother Mary Elizabeth HELMICK (d.o. Wm. H. and Hosannah (REED) Helmick) m. Ike SIMMONS the 11 April 1899 - Randolph Co., W.Va.. The mar. rec. has Ike age 32 and she was 28 both b. Pendleton Co.. Mar. by W.M. Shultz. (mar. rec. #4 p. 93 - Rdlph. Co.). Ike d. 31 March 1900 - Randolph Co., age 39. Died of Blood Poison. (Death Rec. #2 p. 41 - Rdlph Co) Their children were: 1. Bertha b. 12 Aug. 1890 m. Geo. Washington HEDRICK. I don't know when she died but she's buried at the Hedrick Cem. near Whitmer, W.Va.. 2. Stella Maude b. 20 Aug. 1892 m. Oscar Burlin Mowery. They lived at Harmon. She d. 28 Nov. 1968 - Randolph Co., W.Va. 3. Homer Dayton "Dat" b. 13 Dec. 1895 d. 11 Oct. 1935. He was in WW 1. 4. Louise M. b. 21 Feb. 1897 5. twin sister - Edith b. 21 Feb. 1897 m. Billy HALL. She d. _?_ Feb. 1955 - Lakeside, Calif.. She's buried at Warren, Ohio. 6. Emma May b. 17 March 1899 d. 8 March 1906 Mary is supposed to be half Cherokee and some have told me Ike was also part Indian. I do have a little more on Edith and Bertha.
