Elaine and all, Solomon George married Susanna BUGBEE on 21 April 1844, Pend Co. Reg of Marriages 1800, page 43. I have seen this spelling for other Buckbee marriages. Solomon George and Susanna BUCKLOO marriage bond dated 15 April 1844, bondsmen Solomon George and John BUCKLOO. [Mary Harter's Pendleton County, Virginia, Marriage Bonds 1791-1853 (1979), page 9.] Not sure this helps to confirm any particular last name! <G> You might want to trace Josiah Buckbee who appears in the 1850 Pend. Co. census, age 55, Dwelling #527. He has a wife 46 and children aged 20-5. However, his age certainly suggests that there may have been an earlier marriage with children. Neither he nor his sons appear in Pendleton County after this. His son Elijah is in 1880 Mineral County, Frankfort Dist., page 26.
