    1. Re: Netiquette and "Rules" for Pendleton County List and my story of woe.
    2. Amen! I am still trying to clarify the ancestry of my Gr. Gr. Grandmother Catherine Heavner m. George Mumbert. WV Gen Web shows she married John Dean in 1814, or two years after the birth of my Gr. Grandmother, Margaret Mumbert Harris. Pendleton Co. Marriage Records show Margaret as Rebecca and married John Harris. John was living in Pendleton County but he is from parts unknown, and is listed as Margaret in the 1860-70 Lewis Co. Census and on her Tombstone in Lewis Co. If that's not confusing enough, George was the father of several of Margaret's siblings after Catherine Heavener supposedly had married John Dean. George did not marry Catherine Blizzard until 1828. The Catherine listed here is the daughter of Cutlip Heavner. Woe is me! I think I will go back to the tree stump and the crow scenario that my mother used to use, to determine my ancestry. Between Morton's, Pendleton Co. Marriage Records, and the WV Gen Web I am about to go bezonkers. PS According to information found at the Library at the Pendleton County seat, in one of the Heavner (Heffner) books, Catherine Heavner Mumbert died in 1828 and was probably buried on the Mumbert Farm in Pendleton Co. Woe, Woe is me! Don Wilson Chalmette, LA
