When mine were about 2 and 3 we stopped along the road to watch Momma Pig and a lot of little piglets. Adding to Koren's comments, the book "'Twixt North and South," pp. 53-54, does tell us that there were hospitals in Franklin during the Civil War. The Union forces used several homes during their occupation of Franklin, and perhaps their most noteworthy hospital was the Union Church, Franklin's only church at the time. The pews were used to make coffins, as long as they lasted. Presumably, once the occupying forces left, so did the hospital.
