Koren Fae, Thank you. You've answered a number of questions for me including military service for George and Jacob Kennison Hill. You mentioned that you had a number of resources and would check to see if you had further information on this family. Have you had a chance to do that? George W. Hill was born 6 Sep 1823 in Hardy Co. He married Emily Caroline Shreve on 8 Apr 1847 in Pendleton Co. Their children were Jacob, George, Mary, Isaac, Susan, Margaret, Emily, Miles and Samuel. I suspect they had another son between Jacob and George, possibly Frederick. George Sr. later married Martha Shreve and they had David Scott, William and James R. Hill. They probably moved to Grant County. I know many of those who immigrated to Pendleton County were German. Usually, when there is a mass immigration movement they come from the same area. I suspect George Hill and/or his parents were from Germany. Has anyone done any research as to what area the people who settled there might be from?
