    1. New Colaw on list
    2. Scarecrow
    3. Hello. I have just joined the list. My name is John O. Colaw III, and I am researching the Colaw lineage. I am also trying to sort out conflicting information near the top of my tree. I hope that someone can help me out. Accepting that my name has been Kohler, Coller and Colaw here is what I have. We are in agreement as far back as George Colaw (1785), who married Elizabeth Wimer (1791), and had many children: Henry E, Cyrus, William Benjamin, etc. I come down through William Benjamin Colaw. Now this is hard to follow... Morton lists George and Daniel as sons of Frederick Valentine Colaw (1950). Also listed is Catherine Colaw (1763?) who married Christian Huffman (1755) and is shown as daughter of Frederick Valentine Colaw who married a Mary Huffman. Yet my research shows Daniel as son of Valentine, and father of George (1785) and Catharine (1763) and a host of other children. Here is a deed that helps supports this: Pendleton County, West Virginia records: Deed Book 6, p. 374, made 27 April 1816, proved 3 December 1816, Heirs of DANIEL COLLER, decd. to Henry Hartman and John Hotem of Pendleton County, $100.00, 155 acres, granted Henry Judy, by him to John Smith and from Smith to Valentine Coller, from Valentine to Daniel Coller; Jacob Coller, George Coller and Elizabeth, Christian Huffman and Catharine, Elizabeth Weyman, Samuel Mullenax and Charity, all of Pendelton County; Edward Galor and Barbara of Rockbridge County and Abraham Coller and Easter of Ohio. Also mention made of a Terah Colaw (Kohler), from the Palatinate, who had a son Valentine, who had a son Daniel, etc. I am looking for info on Terah Colaw (Kohler) Valentine Colaw (coller) (kohler) Daniel Colaw (coller) Frederick Valentine Colaw Thanks for your patience and support. I have a few historical pictures of the Colaw place at crabbottom VA, now known as Blue Grass, W VA, owned by Paul and Glenna Colaw. Also some others. http://www.colaw.net/gallery/ Thanks so much. john
