Well, I am going to hop on board while everyone is complementing Pendleton and throw in my opinions... My father was born in Circleville and most of his ancestors were there several generations before him...as a small child, and during the Depression Era, his parents made a difficult decision to move to Charleston, WV to seek work...he grew up there, with his parents and brother, and Charleston is where I was born and have lived all my life...my dad fondly remembers going back to Pendleton each weekend to visit the family that remained... I can remember visiting Pendleton occasionally as a child...so, needless to say that when I started genealogy a few years ago I was more than excited to revisit the county that my ancestors had lived in... To sum up a long story, all I can say is breathtaking, beautiful, charming, I wouldn't change a thing...for people like myself who live within a larger city, I need some place like Pendleton to "come home to"...I found the pace of life very refreshing and a welcome change to my routine...I had a wonderful time driving throughout various places in Pendleton, meeting wonderful people, and discovering the areas that my ancestors lived in... A few of my favorite spots...the scenic views from Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, Germany Valley...just to name a few...no wonder our ancestors lived here, what beauty... Proud to be a part of Pendleton, Caroline Lyles
