First, welcome to the group. I'm also researching Anthony McDonald and Harriet Stonebreaker. MY GGrandmother was their daughter Henrietta who married Robert S. Phares, son of Mary S. Phares (b.1842). What I've found so far is that they were married on 9/18/1836 in Hardy Co (Hardy Co Marriage records) . Still looking for someone with a Hardy Co 1820 or 1830 census to verify if there were in Hardy at that time. They moved into the Macksville area about 1845 and appear in the PC census in 1850. As for their parents, it is unclear. There are three other Stonebreaker marriages in Hardy county around the 1830's. Ruth married Jesse Jones May 29, 1834 - Peter married Minty Brown June 25, 1829 - Catherine married Isaac Shears February 20, 1831. I haven't had the time to prove these were siblings yet. The records I saw did not list parents names on the marriage bond. As for your grandmother Amanda, I have her listed as Maude Amanda Rexrode, daughter of John A. Rexrode and Martha Phares. This is verified by nearly every census. Martha was daughter of Isaac Phares and Deliah Hinkle and a sister of my GG Grandmother Mary S. Phares (yes, the same Mary from above).
