According to what little I have - (courtesy Morton, PC Grave Registry, and several censuses), The Levi Vance you are looking for is the second Levi, son of Solomon. I don't have a birth date for him but his age of 52 in the 1910 census is consistent with your date of 1859. Morton lists Levi as having two wives. The 1910 census confirms the two marriages for Levi Vance. Morton lists Levi's first wife as Mary S. Hartman (the mother of Clarence); the second Mary A. Lewis (married abt 1908). In the 1910 census, Clarence is 14 and a boarder with Sheridan Long (age 22). Sheridan was married to Mary J. Vance who was the daughter of Evan C. Vance and the granddaughter of Solomon Vance.
