Hi Chris, My maiden name was Hill and I am descended from George W. Hill and Emily Carolina Shreves of Pendleton County. I was born in the Clarksburg area so your message caught my interest. With this one exception, the rest of my ancestors settled in northern Harrison county in the late 1700s. It's unusual that we don't share more surnames. My great grandfather, Isaac Calvin (or Israel Columbus Hill, he changed his name for unknown reasons) migrated from Pendleton Co. to Lewis Co., married Clarinda Ann Jeffries and raised a large family. Their son, Cecil Jennings settled near Lumberport, WV. He married Wanda Opal Boggess. Their later years were spent first in Clarksburg and then in Bridgeport. My parents were Charles Edward Hill and Vivian Louise Smith of Brown, WV. My maternal grandparents were Charley Parker Smith and Mary Alice Harbert. Maternal gr. grandparents were James Newton Smith/Flarrie Adeline Shaver and Marquis Lafayette Harbert and Harriet Annie Thompson. Who were your parents and grandparents? Perhaps we have a connection. Later, Diane Hill Zimmerman "Christopher T. Hill" wrote: > Dear Pendleton Cousins, > > I am a new member of the WVPENDLE-L.
