Ed, For my old Simmons info, I depend on Walter Eye's book, "A Compilation of Simmons Descendants of Pendleton County." One of the original Simmons settlers, and my ancestor, was Leonard Simmons, and the dates are consistent with yours, but he shows no daughter named Mary Ann. He does have a John Cook who married an unknown Snyder in 1808. This unknown Snyder was the daughter of John Snyder and an unknown Simmons. Eye includes this line on page 438 in his extensive list of Simmons' who he was not able to locate on the tree. I have no other info on this matter, I fear.
