    3. By WV law, family members (basically anyone) are allowed access to cemeteries that are on private land. As a courtesy, I always stop at the house first (and get lots of info), but if there is no answer, proceed to the cemetery. And, as a courtesy and common sense, close all gates that you open, as soon as you drive through them, (the duty of the right-hand passenger) and do not trample the hay crop by driving through it. Otherwise, I have driven up many, many ruts into the "hollars!" Every one has been most cordial and actually delighted that I stopped to view their family cemetery.
