Sign me up Roots in Pendleton County over 230 years and 7 generations. I have been compiling "Eye" family information for some time now. I plan a visit to the Franklin area in mid July of this year to visit family that I haven't seen in 40 years. Family lines directly linked to my heritage are as follows; Eye (Au) , Zorn, Stone, Propst, Barclay, Simmons. Original homestead due South of Franklin about 5-10 miles near Moyers & Sugar Grove on the Blackthorn Run..............Stauffles Run named for the original "Dutchman" ..Stophel Au....in German (Deutch).....Dutch......later anglicised to Christopher Eye............Au translates to Eye in English.This family farmed in the region and multiplied prolificly. Apparently Christopher was a veteran of the Revolutionary War........served in the battle of Yorktown.........once I have confirmation of this information, the entire Eye family will stand a little taller as Sons ans Daughters of the American Revolution .
