Spindler (see below) preached at several Lutheran churches in Pendleton Co., and a few of his descendants removed to that county. Elizabeth KAUMANN/COWMAN b 10 Dec 1766 in VA Rev. Spindler lived at Sugar Loaf (aka Spindle/Spindler's Hill) nr.Middlebrook, Augusta Co., VA Children of Adam Adolph and Elizabeth: 1. Philip (removed to Pendleton Co.) m. Elizabeth ZUMBRO dau of Georg Zumbro and Anna Margarethe. 2. David m. Mary "Polly" Hutchens dau of Thomas J. HUTCHENS and Rachael "Marian" WELLS 3. Elizabeth m. Jacob BROOKS 4. John Cowman Spindle m. Rebecca HUTCHENS (Mary "Polly" Hutchens sister) Mary "Polly" and Rebecca were also sisters to: Lucretia Cane Hutchens who married Peter HEMP. Rev. Spindler (Lutheran) was the resident minister of St. John's Reformed nr. Middlebrook, Augusta Co., VA and began the first Lutheran Church (Spindler's Meeting House) in Crimora, Augusta Co., VA. He died 6 Oct 1826 and is buried in St. John's Reformed Church Cemetery. K
