    2. A family reunion is being held on July 15 & 16, 2000 in Augusta Co., VA. Rev. Spindler (see below) preached at several Lutheran churches in Pendleton Co., and a few of his descendants removed to that county. If anyone on this list is connected to these surnames, please contact me privately. Researching the following: Rev. Adam Adolph SPINDLER/SPINDLE Born ca 1761 - of German descent m. Elizabeth KAUMANN/COWMAN b 10 Dec 1766 in VA Rev. Spindler lived at Sugar Loaf (aka Spindle/Spindler's Hill) nr.Middlebrook, Augusta Co., VA Children of Adam Adolph and Elizabeth: 1. Philip (removed to Pendleton Co.) m. Elizabeth ZUMBRO dau of Georg Zumbro and Anna Margarethe. 2. David m. Mary "Polly" Hutchens dau of Thomas J. HUTCHENS and Rachael "Marian" WELLS 3. Elizabeth m. Jacob BROOKS 4. John Cowman Spindle m. Rebecca HUTCHENS (Mary "Polly" Hutchens sister) Mary "Polly" and Rebecca were also sisters to: Lucretia Cane Hutchens who married Peter HEMP. Rev. Spindler (Lutheran) was the resident minister of St. John's Reformed nr. Middlebrook, Augusta Co., VA and began the first Lutheran Church (Spindler's Meeting House) in Crimora, Augusta Co., VA. He died 6 Oct 1826 and is buried in St. John's Reformed Church Cemetery. K
