    3. Thanks for your question. I guess I wasn't clear. The individuals in an ancestor table (ahnentafel chart) are numbered. Let's say you are number one. Then your father will be number two. And your grandfather will be number four. You take a son and multiply his number by two to find his father. Or you can take a father and divide by two to get a son. Secondly, to find a mother, you multiply by two and add one. Thus, your mother would be number three. Your grandmother would be number five. This also places a couple in sequence. Thus, two and three are a couple, as are eight and nine. I hope this is clear. I was taken aback at first. But once you get it in your head, it seems to me the simplest way to keep track without winding around several generations and coming up in the South Pacific with an unknown relation with Mongolian ancestry. dhamrick@neo.rr.com Dan Hamrick 402 23rd Street NW Canton OH 44709 Phone and fax: 330-454-2376 ---------- >From: CDavis9626@aol.com >To: VAHIGHLA-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [VAHIGHLA] James B.
