    3. Diane, I don't have a clue why Joshua didn't post the bond. Yes, he was alive in 1836. Yes, John Dice Harman's mother was Susanna Dice. I believe that Elizabeth's mother was also Susanna, but that is just my own personal opinion. I haven't done any research on her. However Joshua and his first wife were married in 1814 and she died before his marriage to Susanna in 1817. We know that she had Joel and Phoebe. I got the 1830 census out to see how many children (and their ages) lived in that household during that census. Joshua had 2 males under 5, 2 males 15-20 and 1 male 30-40 (probably him). He had 2 females 5-10, 2 females 10-15 and 1 female 30-40 (probably Susanna). I have that Isaac was born in 1831 and Eli in 1833, so they wouldn't have been counted in the 1830 census. So we have Joel as one of the males in the 15-20 age group. I wonder who the other male was in this age group. For the females, we have Mary and Hellena in the 5-10 age group and Phoebe and Elizabeth were the 2 females in the 10-15 age group. All this shows is that Elizabeth was born between 1815 and 1820, which doesn't clear up anything. I'm sorry that I wasn't much help. Is anyone else working on this family?
