Hello, I understand there are some CARR researchers on this mailing list. I've been looking for years for the parents and birth date and birth place of a Daniel CARR. He md: Amy/Rachel HADSELL prior to 1778. He may have come originally from CT or RI but by Jun 1778 he was living in the Wyoming valley area of what is now PA, near Fort Jenkins, or Jenkins Fort, if you prefer. Daniel CARR was taken prisoner by the Indians & Tories in a 30 Jun 1778 prelude to the Wyoming massacre. He was an Indian captive for 7 years. I have no idea if he escaped, was traded or released. He and Amy had a son, James Hadsell CARR b: 1790 and a son, Daniel[2] CARR b: 1795. Daniel[2] CARR may have been b: in RI. He md: Martha MASON who we believe was b: in NY. She might possibly have been a dtr or closely related to the well known Zephaniah MASON. Daniel[2] and Martha had 4 dtrs & 5 sons, one son was Zephaniah M CARR b:1822, we believe in Washington cnty, NY. Zephania M CARR md: 1851 Angeline GOLDEN in Steuben cnty, IN. They had sons: Frank, James B & Jarvis and dtrs: Ella & Nettie.
