    3. Sandra, I believe the "run together" was caused by Opera (a browser I was trying out) because all of the line breaks were gone.  Since I had only hit the "Enter" key between the word "test" and the URL, they ran together. There are several variables involved in how a list email is displayed: the sender's email program/provider (in your case MSN, in mine, Yahoo) the recipient's email program/provider the list server Some email programs/providers automatically convert anything beginning with "http://" or "www" into a hyperlink in either outgoing or incoming mail unless the user changes the default settings.  Others don't.  Each one has their own idiosyncrasies.  For example, in the email program (on our computer, not a free email provider like Yahoo) my husband uses for his business, if he wants a URL to appear as a clickable hyperlink in a message received by any AOL address, he has to enclose the URL in angle brackets like these reversed > <.  But he doesn't have to do that if he sends the same message to my Yahoo address.  A clickable hyperlink is actually 2 pieces of information:  the"link name" which is the text that is clickable and the HTML tag which includes the URL the link will take you to.  These do not have to be the same (such as the links in a phishing message that looks like it will take you to the legitimate company site but actually takes you to the bogus site). What we saw previously is simply the 2 different pieces of information being displayed; in this case, they were the same.  The links in a phishing message would display as 2 different URL's.  Since you said you did NOT type that message in plain text, the RootsWeb list server probably did convert it to show both the link name and the URL because RW mailing lists *require* plain text.  Since the URL in my message was plain text, it was not duplicated.  I'll do an example by making the URL clickable in my outgoing Yahoo message: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.westvirginia.counties.pendleton/1775/mb.ashx You should see 2 different but very similar URL's in the message that comes through the list.  Only the message numbers are different (1775 and 1778). The other person received the email with a clickable non-duplicated URL because the email program/provider that received it did not convert it to plain text. 1. [WVPENDLE] Complete list of Pendleton County Cemeteries
    2. In response to Jackie's question. There is not a complete list of Pendleton County cemeteries. The closest to such a list is found in the 1977 and 1980 Grave Registers and the 2004 Corrections and Additions available through the Pendleton County Historical Society. The Fort Seybert Heritage Educational Association (FSHEA) began an on-going Cemetery Identification and Preservation Project in April 2007. When I contacted the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), there were only 5 cemeteries on file and those were done by the Dept. of Highways as part of road construction projects. As part of the Identification, we began contacting landowners and/or descendants of those buried and made appointments to conduct the surveys. In the process, we have documented burial sites that are not on any list. FSHEA is the only organization, to my knowledge, that has taken on this project. We are a volunteer, project-oriented association. Our emphasis is the burial sites of 1900 and earlier. These surveys include photos, GPS readings, and TOPO maps. They are made available at the Pendleton County Library as they are completed. They are also being sent to SHPO for storage. There has been no funding and few volunteers for this project. FSHEA recently was accepted in the Volunteers WV program as we are seeking project coordinators and volunteers to conduct surveys and to participate in the Preservation part of the project. Training will be provided. I will be happy to answer any questions concerning FSHEA and our projects.
